ProMOS Technologies, Elpida Sign MOU for 63nm Process Technology Licensing

Taiwan's ProMOS Technologies announced on December 24 that the company has signed a licensing MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Japan's Elpida Memory for 63nm DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) process technology, the Economic Daily News of Taiwan reported. In the future, in addition to contract manufacturing for Elpida, ProMOS expects to use Elpida's 63nm process technology in producing its own-branded products. Meanwhile, ProMOS's board of directors also approved a restructuring plan to start a memory business unit and a separate contract manufacturing business unit.
